Only 32% Showed Up
In 2016, only 32% of registered voters in (my) Genesee County voted in the primary.
We get this opportunity to change the course of history, but we often sit at home saying our vote doesn't matter.
IT DOES.
If we want leadership that acts with integrity, who seeks to lead with dignity instead of drama, who is willing to have the deep conversations instead of always having their "hot take" in the news, we have to vote for them.
If we want to change the tone in government, we have to vote for those who understand that communicating is more than just words. More than just speaking the loudest.
When researching candidates, obviously research where they stand on issues. But as Carlos Whitaker says, also see how willing they are to walk with people.
Visit Vote411.org to see who is on your ballot, and see how candidate view issues important to you.
Love, Margaret

Be a Myth Buster
This week a chiropractor on social media spent his time trying to tell people why they believe that wheat based sourdough is safe for those with Celiac Disease. Sadly they are wrong. But are telling this to their 900K+ followers.
I addressed his statements on my Facebook page this week. If won’t retype all of it here, in the sake of brevity. But it does bring to mind that all of us can be advocates and myth busters. We can calmly share evidence as about the issue.
We may not always change minds. But hopefully we can at least get them to listen.
